coating systems

Coating and lining systems are often the first line of defense against deterioration by water, reclaimed water, wastewater, corrosive soils, and chemical exposures.

icons2Black-12.png

flow monitoring

Managing water and wastewater collection systems and mitigating sanitary system overflows by collecting timely, accurate data to predict peak flows for a given segment of the system.

Condition assessment

Assessments of coated or uncoated steel and concrete structures; providing necessary recommendations and design services for rehabilitation or replacement.

ODOR CONTROL

Finding solutions for complex biological, chemical, and physical interactions that combine to create hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas in wastewater collection systems and treatment plants.

CORROSION ENGINEERING

Responsive service and successful solutions focused on corrosion engineering specialized in evaluating, rehabilitating and preserving municipal infrastructure.

TRANSIT

Measuring and managing corrosion of the electrified rapid-transit system caused by water and soil contamination; resulting in stray or lost current circuitry along the running rail or underground lines.

Our Work

V&A's mission is to be the industry leader in delivering field-based solutions that maximize the life cycle of our client's infrastructure systems.

FLOW MONITORING - EASTERN MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT   Flow and rainfall monitoring was performed over a period of approximately one month at 55 open-channel flow monitoring sites and five rain gauge locations. The purpose of this study was to measure sanitary sewer flows at the flow monitoring sites, estimate sewer capacity and conduct analyses pertaining to infiltration and inflow (I/I) occurring in the basins upstream from the flow monitoring sites. The final report also included recommendations regarding examination of reduction needs to determine a future I/I reduction program.

COATING SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT V&A has tackled the tasks of coatings selection, assessments, specifications, third-party evaluations, and maintenance on behalf of our clients. Our approach to systems management consists of conducting structure assessments (including confined-space entries) meeting ASTM, ICRI, NACE, and SSPC standards; selecting and specifying appropriate coatings options; as well as assisting during construction and third-party evaluation while monitoring the coating process from surface prep to curing.

FOUNDER, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD
DIRECTOR, STRATEGIC MARKETING OFFICE
BARBEQUE CHEF EXTRAORDINAIRE

“Poseer un negocio.” English: “Own a business.” Words of my mother since I was 6 years old. I always knew my work would fill a large part of my life and it does.
I love that.
— Jose Villalobos

From the beginning:

From my early days, I was encouraged to own a business for myself. I always knew I'd do that, however, the type of business developed later. By sixth grade, engineering caught my attention and the seeds of my business idea were born. After college, as I put my dream together, I didn't look as hard at other engineering firms for inspiration. Instead I read books about Southwest Airlines, 3M, GE, and learned about filling a need, standardization and organization of these successful companies. I felt there was a need for an experience-based engineering organization placing priority on client service. I began with corrosion engineering, civil engineering, and industrial waste treatment, which later was fine-tuned to corrosion engineering, specialized in evaluating, rehabilitating and preserving municipal infrastructure.
